Built on the narrowest isthmus in Europe, Ambialet was classified as a Small Town of Character in 2018.
During a stroll along the water’s edge, you can discover its 3 churches, the castle ruins and Notre-Dame de l’Auder, its priory.
The Romanesque church of St Gilles, overlooking the river will offer you an exceptional view. Burned and destroyed several times during the Albigensian war and the wars of religion, it has been fully restored. Today desacralized, it hosts exhibitions from June to September.
As for the Condomine church, you will discover its Romanesque bell tower as well as its superb carved wooden lectern.
